Our Story
Kristen and Troy (quickly named "Tristen" by friends) first met on the pickleball courts in a private group organized by mutual friends in 2019. Thinking nothing of it, they crossed paths again at a tournament a few weeks later. Recognizing each other from the private group and not knowing many people, they ended up chatting quite a bit in between matches. They quickly realized they only lived 20 minutes apart and made plans to practice pickleball singles and tennis together back home.
Despite their affinity for racquet sports, one of their first dates was actually midnight bowling. The night concluded with the final game ending in a tie score (which is really hard to do in bowling!) and the lights turned on with Kristen & Troy being the only people at the alley.
They have been inseparable ever since.
Being that pickleball brought them together and is how they spend a lot of their time, a pickleball wedding seemed like the perfect way to celebrate their love.
Pickleball Formal: Your finest athletic attire that incorporates shades of blue or purple (our favorite colors).
We suggest any kind of comfortable clothing and sneakers that will allow you to make the most out of everything this wedding has to offer. It will be October so be sure to bring some layers!
Troy, Kristen & immediate family will be dressing up for the ceremony but we are asking our guests to just come in their Pickleball Formal attire.
We wanted our guests to be able to eat when they want, as much as they want- in between playing pickleball or other activities.
- Open bar w/ beer, wine, seltzers, & Team Tristen's signature cocktails
- Open food trucks
- Wedding cake, open ice cream truck
We met playing pickleball and spend most of our time playing sports and being active together. We wanted our wedding to be the same!

No way! We are not expecting everyone attending our wedding reception to be at the ceremony. We understand that it is early, especially if you have a longer commute to the venue. We intentionally made the ceremony early because we want plenty of time to play pickleball and spend time with all of our guests. We would rather you stay later into the day and spend time with us than rush to our early ceremony.
-
Just comfortable sneakers, a hat or visor, a change of clothes, layers in case it gets cold and don't forget to wear sunscreen! We'll have everything else taken care of.
-
There is not! There will not be an engagement party or bridal shower. We want to focus our creativity and brain power on the actual wedding day while leaving plenty of time to enjoy this engagement period together.
Therefore, the wedding day October 1st, 2022 (Rain Date October 8th, 2022) is the only time we are hoping you can set aside to spend with us!

There will be a "learn to play" clinic at 1:00 PM where you can learn the scoring, rules and some basic techniques.
We suggest watching this pickleball beginner video for a quick introduction to the game.
-
No! We will have plenty of extra paddles so please DO NOT purchase a paddle for this wedding.
-
No, the player list and level are just completely for fun to add to the pickleball theme. The player list is just anyone who has RSVP'd yes to our wedding.
There will be no forced or expected play whatsoever.
-
You can play with whomever you want and as much as you want. There is no merit to level at all. The player list and level are just completely for fun to add to the pickleball theme.
The levels are generated automatically based on past tournament results, if they exist.

For those unfamiliar with pickleball, dinking is one of the primary shots in pickleball in which a player hits a soft unattackable shot over the net generally in the opposing teams kitchen (non-volley zone).
Dinking is the bread and butter of higher level pickleball and is used as a defensive shot to slow the game down and hunt for aggressive opportunities.
